Grandma’s Chocolate Chip-Oatmeal Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
12 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)
DIRECTIONS:
Beat first 7 ingredients in mixer until creamy. Add flour and beat at low speed. Stir in by hand oatmeal, chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.
